Being well-known as Royal City in the State of Pahang, Pekan is a fantastic place for light jigging for Cermin over the years and now becoming a fishing paradise for sailfish too. There are few fishing boat charters around that area and apparantly will be a great fishing adventure  with massive sails during the season.

Pekan sets alongside where the coast of Pahang River meets the South China Sea, just when the Rompin Sailfish season starts, the sailfish will pass thru Pekan before going down the coast of Rompin. 

The best time for sailfish season will be towards end of August till mid October. At first glance, Pekan seems like one of those Malaysia's sleepy town but in actual fact that this small town survives mainly on agriculture and fisheries. Eventually the boat fishing charter will be a new business endeavour in the state.
