What's Excluded:
Rods, Reels, Bait, Lures, Fishing Equipment, Personal Expenses, Alcohol, Gratuities, or Loss/Damage to the rod & reels and transportation to/from to Kuala Rompin. Rental of Rods & Reels are available and fishing baits can be arrange.
Species of Fish Targeted:
Our main target will be Sailfish and Juvenile Black marlin.
Pacific Sailfish
The main attraction to Kuala Rompin, is the pacific sailfish congregate along the coastline and offshore waters around Rompin. Most fish average around 25kg with the odd one closer to 40kg. Schooling aggressive billfish with vivid coloring and the enhanced sail or dorsal fin that gives them the name. Strictly catch and release policy. They are often found in packs herding baitfish near or on the surface, they also free jump or fin on the surface, alerting anglers to their presence.
Black Marlin
Juvenile black marlins are sometimes mixed in with pacific sailfish. Although not as common as sails they provide great action when they hit a trolled lure or bait. Caught up to 45kg in these waters.
Mahi Mahi
Known primarily as mahi mahi or dolphin fish, these brightly colored acrobatic speedsters are found in the waters off Rompin. They are very fast growing and are continually feeding. In the warm waters they are commonly caught up to 6kg.
Spanish or Barred Mackerel
Mackerel often responsible for slashing baits or cutting lines. Caught on lures and live baits. Caught up to 10kg and like mahi mahi are a quality table fish.
Cobia
Known also as kingfish, these powerful fish will respond to live and dead baits and are a tough opponent for any angler. Smaller fish are commonly caught up to 5kg though 20kg fish make their presence felt at times.
Giant Trevally and Queenfish
Several species of trevally are caught at times around the Rompin coastline. These include silver trevally, golden trevally, and GT’s. These fish vary from 2 – 10kg when located. Acrobatic queenfish also will strike at surface lures or baits, and are spectacular action on light tackle.
For Bottom fishing will be targeting Trevally, Mackerel, Parrot, Grouper, Permit, Barracuda, Mahi Mahi, Cobia, Queenfish, Dorado, Garfish are frequently caught.
Charter Description:
Experience fishing in the pristine waters off Kuala Rompin, Malaysia. We have several locations to fish covering the southern coast of Pahang to provide a breathtaking fishing experience. Each day you will be collected from the resort and board your vessel for the short run out to the grounds. Here you will use techniques including live baiting, trolling and popper casting to target numerous sailfish in the calm, warm waters. The abundance of sailfish available is such a tempting place to fish in Kuala Rompin, its common here to have multiple hookups, free jumping fish, and dozens of shots at fish each day. Other species encountered include marlin, cobia, mackerel, trevally and mahi mahi, making Kuala Rompin a very exciting fishing destination.
On completion of each days fishing, return to your resort to enjoy the facilities or head into one of the local restaurants to enjoy a meal. On the last day of fishing enjoy a final dinner and a few wrap up drinks at the restaurants.
Vessel Description:
Kuala Rompin Boats
Fishing is onboard local fiberglass boats specifically made for fishing these waters.
They range between 28 to 33 feet in length, most are powered by twin 4 stroke outboard engines. These boats are well suited to fishing the waters of the South China Sea. They are fast, stable and fitted with GPS, radio, live bait well, rod holders to make your charter comfortable and productive.
What you need to bring:
Sunglasses, Sunscreen, Lip Balm with SPF, Hat, Towel's, Hand Sanitizer, Boat Shoes or Sandals rubber sole, and ID.
Itinerary:
Day 1:
Arrival at Lodging house to meet up with fishing Guide/Captain, rest and relax. Dinner at 1900hrs depending on traffic condition on arriving.
Day 2: 7.15 am breakfast at Hotel (For Package 1 breakfast at coffee shop)
8.00 am transfer to jetty (10 mins)
9.30 am start fishing (approx 1 hrs from jetty)
5.00 pm stop fishing, proceed back to jetty
7.30 pm dinner at local seafood restaurant
9.00 pm back to lodging house, rest and relax
Day 3:
Same as Day 2 except stop fishing at 4 pm.
Extended check out at 6 pm
Dinner either in Rompin or en route back to Singapore
ETA 2300hrs depending on traffic condition
